8U Coach Pitch Description

Players ages 7 & 8. Basic fundamentals of baseball utilizing an adult coach to pitch to players. 10 players on the field during regular season and end of season tournament play. All players bat. No leading off or stealing of bases allowed. There is a mandatory two inning defensive play rule and each player must play an infield position at least one inning of each game. Maximum of 5 coaches allowed on the field at any time.

In Spring, a maximum of four (4) team meetings per calendar week is allowed during the declared pre-season period, and a maximum of four (4) team meetings per calendar week (including games) is allowed during the regular season.

In Fall, a maximum of three (3) team meetings per calendar week is allowed during the declared pre-season period, and a maximum of three (3) team meetings per calendar week (including games) is allowed during the regular season.

No. Our rules do not allow a participant to deviate from their age group without Board of Directors approval, except in the case of a 6 year old playing up in the Pinto League, which will be allowed with the approval of the Baseball/Softball Commissioner.
Yes. In order for a participant to be an eligible candidate for the league draft, he/she must 1) be registered 2) have paid the registration fees or have an approved waiver, 3) have attended a try-out session. The only exceptions to the try-out requirement are when the participants return for their 2nd year of eligibility on the team or when the participant will be drafted as a priority draft selection, or for 6U and WeeBall players.

A bat shall not exceed 2 3/4 inches in diameter and should have a USSSA or USA Baseball stamp.

Regulation games will be a maximum of six (6) innings, but no regulation inning (one through six) may be started after one (1) hour and fifteen (15) minutes. Should the game be tied after six (6) innings and there is time remaining, an extra five (5) run inning may be played.
